Welcome to my part of the site, pull up a comfy chair and I'll put the kettle on while you read my ramblings. I've been riding motorcycles on and off since I got my first bike and hit the road on my 17th birthday. Unfortunately that was one of the off occasions and I literally hit the road, resulting in a broken wrist and a none-too-happy group of family members who missed my birthday tea as a result. Been riding bikes since I was six years old and have owned various machines ranging from my first road bike at sixteen, a Suzuki X1 50cc to my last, a Kawasaki ZZR1400. Think I am almost through the sports bike/trackday phase now Have toyed with the idea of buying a GS a few times until a back problem finally made up my mind earlier this year. I have toured through most of Europe and once rode 1200 miles in one day on a VFR800. Always had a keen interest in The Dakar Rally so am looking forward to this African trip. The Machine
